With the 2020 college football season in limbo, the most important activity taking place in college football at this moment is recruiting players for the class of 2021. As of June 26, the Spartans rank #58 in recruiting when measured against D-1 Schools nationally, and rank #12 when measured against 14 Big Ten teams.

What seemed to be “recruiting made easy”, has proven not so easy. In a time of uncertainty, please take a moment to count your Blessings!

Coronavirus has delivered us to a new reality, and it has reminded all of us that every system is fragile, yet preparedness is the glue. If we don’t pull together, we will be irrevocably pulled apart. Life is a “team game” and I hope everyone who reads this will take a portion of each day to give back to those less fortunate. To give a bit of recognition each day to those “who carry the mail”.

Mel Tucker: a fair and balanced second look?

I was more critical of the hiring process than I was about the hiring of Mel Tucker, and let’s just say the disorganized Hiring search didn’t instill a lot of confidence in most. Yet, more than 24 hours have passed and I want to give a fair and balanced, second look at Mel Tucker.

Michigan State hired Mel Tucker?

When history is written, Michigan State’s so called “search committee” will be recognized as inept and unskilled. They failed to deploy a coherent hiring strategy, got rejected publicly by 5 different coaches, and in fit of panic defaulted to simply “spinning the wheel of fortune”, and the wheel of fortune landed on Mel Tucker who has been a Head  Coach for just one season at Colorado and posted an upside down won/lost record of 5-7.
